by Brad and Debra Schepp
It seems that just about every year—and usually in February—eBay announces changes that largely displease the great majority of eBay sellers. This is much like that annual family gathering where someone always steps over the line. Unique eBay Auctions

Wicked Sourcing Game
Well, it's probably no surprise that sourcing was on the minds of many eBay Live attendees, but this auction takes the cake. How much would you pay for a used paper cup? What if it were in "excellent or better condition [with] no scratches, creases or gouges? And better yet if it were used by Grammy-nominated artist Chris Isaak during his performance at the eBay Live 2008 closing gala?

New York City Advertising
Win this auction and "Lisa" will walk around NYC for 14 hours, wearing a shirt emblazoned with your logo, carrying a large bunch of balloons also advertising your company. As the seller promises, this will certainly cost you a "crap load" less than a billboard in the Big Apple.

Paper Clip-Trapped Ghost
The seller says he tried to distract the ghost by throwing this paper clip at it, but when the paper clip hit the trailing "endoplasmic slime" the ghost was trapped in the paper clip. The seller also warns that the winning bidder not trust the ghost. "He's Crazy." We'll let you decide who "he" is.

Recent Feedback

In response to the discussion of eBay's New Item Page design in "Reporting From eBay Live in Chicago," user "member_8880" writes: "Those tabs are going to be a joke. Nobody reads NOW, with the information right in front of them. I doubt they'll be bothered to click on a tab to read terms of sale or shipping details. Just more 'busywork' to justify the big salaries. JMHO"  Read the entire thread, and post your response.
