Auctiva Commerce Store Spotlight

My Quilts 4 You

Claudia Loitz has been selling her quilts online for 10 years.

She started selling them as a way to help pay for her daughter's college education. But she always has a lot of fun making her products, she says.

"My store has only handmade items," notes Loitz, who opened her store on Auctiva Commerce in January 2009. "We buy so many mass-produced products these days, and forget about the quality of handmade items."

All of her items are made with "lots of care," she notes on her blog, where she promotes her products and encourages readers to share their quilting stories, ideas and tips. Her efforts to spread the word about her Auctiva Commerce Store seem to be working, as Loitz has been able to draw customers from around the world.

While Loitz appeals to a wide range of potential buyers by offering a variety of items—from quilted purses, to huggable children's items, to home decor—her main product continues to be quilts. She even creates custom quilts upon request.

Feedback Forum

In response to "Suit Slams eBay's Registration Process," one reader writes: "Just another example of how eBay doesn't care about the small seller… Certainly there is technology out there eBay could employ to assist the deaf. What a shame this person had to go to this extreme length of filing suit, just to make some income."  Read the entire thread, and post your response.
