Auctiva allows you to easily upload many images to your account. This tutorial will show you how to bulk upload images.
What is bulk uploading?
Bulking uploading is the task of uploading multiple images at one time. If you are preparing to list a variety of items with unique pictures, bulk uploading your images may save you a great deal of time.
How to bulk upload images using the Auctiva Uploader
Images must be in GIF or JPG format. Consider creating new image folders to keep the images organized. You can always move images to folders after the upload process. If you would rather create image folders and move images around after you've uploaded the images, skip Step 2. If you want to bulk upload images using the HTML Uploader, skip to the next section.
Step 1. Create new image folder.
Note: This step is optional.
- Hover your mouse over the Images tab and click on the Folders link (Figure 1.1). The Manage Image Folders page will load.
- Next, click on the Create Folder button (Figure 1.2).
- Enter a name, description and choose a color for the folder (Figure 1.3).
- Click on the Save button to create the image folder. You can create as many folders as you may need, but you will only be able to upload to a single folder when the uploading process starts. You can always organize the images by moving them to folders after they are uploaded.
Step 2. Launch Auctiva Uploader.
Note: The Auctiva Uploader will work with GIF or JPG images. It will also resize any image that is greater than the requirement (i.e., 1280-pixels by 1024-pixels).
- Hover your mouse over the Images tab and click on the Upload link (Figure 2.1).
- Click on the Auctiva Uploader link (Figure 2.2). The Auctiva Uploader will load. If it does not successfully launch, view the Trouble Shooting Guide for more details.
- Use the Navigation box (Figure 2.3-A) to navigate to different folders on your computer.
- Images will appear in the Image Browser box (Figure 2.3-B).
- You can hold the Control button (PC) or Apple button (MAC) and click on multiple images to select them as a group. Then, drag them to the Image Upload box (Figure 2.3-C) or click on the Add button. You can also click on the Add All button to add every image in the Image Browser box to the Upload Image box. Images that are in the Image Upload box are waiting to be uploaded. They will not be uploaded until you click the Upload button.
- Continue to Navigate to images, browse for the images you want and add them to the Upload Image box.
- Choose an image folder if necessary (Figure 2.3-D).
- Click on the Upload button to upload the images that are in the Upload Image box. Uploading images can take a few minutes.
This completes the task of bulk uploading images using the Auctiva Uploader. The next section will cover step-by-step instruction on how to do the same task using the HTML Uploader.
