The manual gives some really good tips on this game. There are 10 events just like in a real Olympic Decathlon. You have to be fast at moving the joystick, have good timing, and have stamina for some of the running events. I hold the joystick horizontally. I hold my hand in the form of the Vulcan sign for live long and prosper. The joystick goes in the V between the two middle fingers. This allows for the wrist and forearm to engage and create additional speed. • Chopper Command by Activision: Tips Tricks Hints and Strategies

    9:56 AM PST, 8/25/2017

The minimum score required in Chopper Command by Activision to earn an Activision patch was: 10,000 points. Make sure both difficulty switches are set to B. The best advice in Chopper Command by Activision is to read the manual so that you know all of the nuances of the game. This game is something of a Defender type clone -- side scrolling shooter. You must protect the convoy of trucks at the bottom of the screen. You get bonus points for each truck remaining at the end of each wave. Get familiar with using the radar at the bottom of the screen. This tells you exactly where the enemies are located. Get used to viewing the radar and the regular screen at the same time. The truck convoy moves from right to left on your screen. I prefer to always follow the convoy and attack the enemies from behind while I move left. Once you have cleared the first group of 3 enemies, the rest of the wave should be very easy. Just move slightly into range so the enemies will barely appear on the screen. Line up your shots to destroy the enemy as soon as it appears on the edge of the screen. Repeat this process for the second and third enemy in each group then move on to the next group of three ahead in the convoy to the left until all have been destroyed. You earn an extra chopper for every 10,000 points and can have a maximum of 6 in reserve. There are 10 levels of difficulty that increase with each wave of enemies. You are at the maximum level of difficulty and max bonus point scoring in the 10th enemy wave. Good luck! Do not shoot this one. Try to touch it and it will give you an extra life. Also, at the end of each wave, you have three torpedoes that are fired at the mother ship by pressing up on the joystick. This gives you the most points in a wave of Beamrider for destroying the mother ship. The torpedoes can be used during the round to destroy object that cannot be destroyed by your regular blaster like rocks, but try to save them for the mother ship to maximize points. Several new types of enemies will appear in different levels as you advance that make the game more and more challenging. Good luck!
