The minimum score required in Bridge by Activision for the Atari 2600 to earn a patch was: No patch was ever offered in Bridge. The best advice in Bridge is to read the manual, so that you know all of the nuances of the game. The manual gives some really good tips. Make sure both difficulty switches are set to B. Bridge by Activision places you at the seat of a perfect solitaire gaming scenario against yourself or an electronic opponent. Difficulty setting are both left and right to be set to the position of "B". However you can use these difficulty buttons for several different things during the game and after hands are played. Using the "Left" difficulty switch to position "A" you can make your partners hand visible during bidding. Using the "Right" difficulty switch to position "A" after you've played a hand you can see what your opponents hands are after the play is completed. There are seven gaming selections to choose from, games "one through three" which are "Bid to play" and "four through seven" that are "Play without bidding" You must have a good idea already of how to play Bridge as this game is not for beginners who are learning to play. You deal your hand by pressing the reset button. Your hand will be shown at the bottom of the screen. Each time you press the reset button you will be dealt a new hand to play with. You can select your bid with the joystick. Pointing the joystick up makes your bid increase and pointing the joystick down decreases your bid. Once you've selected the amount that you want to bid, you press the button to solidify that amount. After your opponent bids, his bid will be shown above your bid. Your next available bid will start flashing. This bidding continues until you or your opponent passes. Much like in playing a real game of Bridge, after the opening lead, you control both hands that are above and below where as the computer's hands are to the left and right. When it is your turn to play, your positions will flash. You can replay a hand over as many times as you like, but if you choose not to, just press the button when the "P" is flashing. ** TIPS As the game designer says, there are no real tips on how to beat the game, other than just to have fun. Also it is helpful to learn the ways of bidding and playing situations with your choices of playing hands and then re-playing those hands to see the various different outcomes.
