** NEEDLEWORK'S PLEASURE** SPINNING & FELTING FIBRES, HANDSPUN & HANDPAINTED YARNS

February is almost over, and I am slowly but surely finishing half of my custom orders for this month and March. The camel down/silk bulk order is just one more skein short...YEAHH... and I will then take a good photo of these gorgeous beauties to add it to my blog ;o) Here is half an order I finished and sent ahead, as it was requested by the customer, so she could already start on her corsage projects - handspun and handpainted extra soft Merino slub yarn, plied...absolutely YUMMY:

One set of a total of 100m was requested in sky blue and turquoise, and a second set of 100m to be painted in flower mauve, green and some daffodil yellow. I think both lots came out very well :o)

Another order in flower shades of rose pink, 4 different greens, rosewood and autumn violet came off the wool rack last night and will be going to a very lovely and chatty lady here in Germany:

A lot of people are now going for flower shades at the moment. I think we are all desperately waiting for spring to arrive, aren't we? Still I must say that this year's snow has been a great delight, at least I enjoyed the snowy days very very much. Probably because I hadn't seen any snow for so many years.

Okay, I am off again to finish some more yarn today. I think I want to take a day off tomorrow and just have a relaxed Sunday (wait and see....I will probably come up with something to do...as always...).

I couldn't help it but I had to spin and paint another lot of my favourite "Secret of the Ocean" yarn design, and this time I have used a soft and squishy New Zealand lambswool....ABSOLUTELY YUMMY!!! I really love the cornflower blue and the teal mixed with a little bit of purple, these three shades go together so well :o)

This colourway is ever so relaxing and lifts my spirit, especially now during the winter season. Plus I spun some more pure tussah silk lace yarn (actually it's a cobweb weight yarn but plied, so I call it lace yarn), perfect for lacework and tapestry/embroidery. The colour is a very vibrant and fresh aquamarine:

Okay, I have to get back to my spinning wheel and try to finish some more slub yarn because tomorrow I will be having a huge painting session for more custom yarns and new slub yarns for my ebayUK store. As to my bulk custom order of baby camel down/silk yarn: I am now at skein no.14, so I have to finish another 2. After that a new custom order of handspun and handpainted curly art yarn will keep me busy well into March. This is what I like most about my work, there is such a wide variety of yarn and fibre designs I make, and it never gets boring! Right, gotta go now.

There! I have finished my latest yarn design "Dragon Slayer"!! It's a 70/30 merino/nylon blend, sport weight and machine washable. It is displayed in my Etsy store at www.alltheprettyfibers.etsy.com  ;o)

Upon repeated request I have added a new fibre blend to my range of fibres, a 70/30 extra soft Merino/Nylon roving, superwash and therefore perfect for handspinning long lasting yarns that can be machine washed (cool woolwash). The blend will make fantastic knitwear and strong socks, and it also dyes like a dream. I am currently spinning one of the handpainted lots I finished a few days ago, and the wool spins ever so easily. Two lots have found their way into my Etsy store at www.alltheprettyfibers.etsy.com . Yep, the colours are indeed veeeery vibrant ;o) I am hoping to finish the merino/nylon yarn very soon so I can display a photo of it on my blog. But for now I have to move on with one of my custom orders...deadline's beginning of march, and I still need to finish 6 fingering weight skeins, which are very time consuming. Nevertheless the merino/nylon yarn will be finished within the next few days...I so want to see its colourway!!!!!!! ;oD
