MAKE WAY! MAKE WAY! Here they come! My first bulk of finished and dispatched custom orders in all their splendor!! I must say that I am indeed very pleased with these yarns, especially the "Scottish Sunset" Bluefaced Leicester yarn design, which took a good deal of careful dyeing and calculating during the spinning process. The photos may not show all the shades clearly, it is such a pain to shoot good pictures of items that have reds and pinks in them...SIGH...but I think the yarns come out fine, here they are:

aren't they just gorgeous.....:o) There are 2 double knit skeins for a long scarf and 1 sport weight skein for a pair of gloves. I would SO love to see the finished knitwear!!!

Next is a handpainted lot of cosy lambswool yarn "A Winter's Tale",  8 skeins, with shades that I copied from the photo below, which was sent to me by the lady who had ordered this design:

Next is another lambswool design, "Coral Beach", painted with powder pink, coral pink with and undyed white to represent the sand, just as it was requested. Here it is:

I like these pink shades very much, I am glad I didn't overdo them by adding too much dye. I also had a photo for this design but I cannot find it right now, it was a picture of a  gorgeous seashell necklace with lots and lots of pink in it. If I find it I will add it to the blog later :o)

Next comes a handpainted Bluefaced Leicester roving which I finished for a very lovely lady in the UK:

I also had a photo of handpainted silk available for this lot, the customer sent me the link to the picture so I would have an idea of which shades she was after. Unfortunately I cannot display the photo of the silk because it is under copyright. Sorry. I will see if I can find the link to it.

And because I have been able to meet all my deadlines (...so far...) and had some spare time for the past few days, I sat down and finished 2 BFL yarns for my own store. They are both displayed in my Etsy shop at www.alltheprettyfibers.etsy.com :

    Irish Rose II

    "Amber"

Still, I am not done with handspinning and painting yet. I will start on a new custom order of handspun white baby camel down/silk sport weight yarn, and a sport weight elfyarn design, which I will try to finish during the month of December. There is so much going on at the moment, and I am receiving tons of requests that I had to stretch out my deadline for the elfyarn. But...once it's done I will display it on my blog too... ;o)

In case you are wondering where the photo of the handspun black Alpaca yarns is that I mentioned  further back on my blog...I dispatched the yarns last week without having taken a single picture...YEP...me...getting old...sorry about that, folks.

Everyone have a very good week and HAPPY FIBRE CRAFTING!!!

I have now displayed 3 new lots of beautiful hand dyed Wensleydale locks/curls and also my latest handspun and handpainted slub yarn designs for all the dreadmakers, felters, knitters and dollmakers out there :o)

This time the Wensleydale locks are a good deal shorter than my regular lots. I have used a wonderful quality fleece from the upper thigh region of the Wensleydale sheep which resulted in shorter locks of around 4 inches in length. These shorter versions are perfect for small dolls and felting projects that require only half the length of the "original" curls. They will also be handier for handspinners who wish to card the locks for their handspun yarn projects, or simply ply them straight into the ready spun threads!

The slub yarns I have finished are painted with vibrant oranges, yellows, reds, pinks...GORGEOUS!!

And while I am at it...:oD...I have also prepared 2 new creativity mixed fiber bags with loads and loads of goodies for every felter's and handspinner's desire, have a look:

Those bags can easily be used for several individual projects or for one major project - they are exactly the same fibers I use for my own handspun yarns!

So come and  Visit My eBay Store for more details and fiber information! :o)

Everyone have a very good week!!

    Hi, everyone!!

I finished them!! Two new absolutely gorgeous handpainted and handspun yarn designs, so yummy, I almost kept them for myself (not joking!) :o) I am so glad I managed to get them off the drying board for a weekend display, I am really proud of my two beauties! Here they are, both displayed in my Etsy store www.alltheprettyfibers.etsy.com  , the first hank is called "Stardust", a super soft BFL lambswool/silk blend, and the second one is my "Scylla II", a pure BFL wool design:

Please feel free to view my etsy store for more yarn details!

Sorry, I have to keep this blog quite short this time, I need to get back to my spinning wheel because I am still working on one of my custom orders of gorgeous sunset colours painted on a cosy Bluefaced Leicester wool fibre! It's coming along so nicely, I really am pleased with it :o) Later on tonight I need to mordant another 12 rovings for tomorrow's painting session. Yep, it's definitely yarn&fibre season, AND I'M LOVING IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EVERYONE HAVE A VERY NICE WEEKEND!

I seem to get old...:o(  I am trying hard to keep up with the pace of life, but somehow I am constantly dragging behind - but perhaps it has just got to do with the autumn season where nature and all creatures outside (and inside...) slow down drasticly as well and prepare for winter. The grass grows much more slowly (thank god for that!!), the trees draw their energy back from the leaves, and all wildlife focuses on stuffing themselves as much as possible, no more running and chasing around, can't afford to lose too much of the precious fat reserves . Perhaps I should do that too, eating and sleeping and eating and sleeping.... I would loooooove to be able to go into a 4-month hibernation cycle, oh wouldn't that be lovely, snoring away while the weather turns really ugly outside...SIGH...

Anyway, I am currently loaded with custom orders, that is why I haven't really displayed much in my online stores lately. I am still working on a beautiful black Alpaca yarn order, I've got 6 BFL rovings to paint in autumn shades for a very lovely lady in Finland, and I received another very interesting custom request a few days ago; 3 skeins of handpainted and handspun Bluefaced Leicester yarn with the colours of a Scottish sunset, oooohhhhh, the fibres are already painted, and as soon as they are ready to come off the drying board I will start spinning those goregous sunset shades into a blend of yellows, oranges, reds and pinks. I am quite excited about this order :o) Once the yarns are finished I will certainly display them on my blog, so others can view them too!

Still, I managed to spare a few hours and paint a very colourful lot of Merino rovings, I think I painted a total of 10, some will be displayed in my ebay store and another 3 will be availble in my Etsy store at www.alltheprettyfibers.etsy.com - the rest I am keeping for my handspun yarn projects :o) Here are the ones I will display in my online stores:

You are very welcome to Visit My eBay Store and my Etsy store for more fibre details :o) I also have some handpainted Bluefaced Leicester rovings which I will display within the next few days. And even though I am really busy with my custom orders I am trying to finish a new handpainted and handspun super soft (yes, SUPER SOFT!!) Bluefaced Leicester/Silk blend yarn design. I just work about an hour per day on it, but I will get there, and I will display it on my blog as soon as it is finished - believe me, it will be absolutely GORGEOUS!!! :o)

Well, have to go and do some spinning. Everyone enjoy the slow pace of life while you can :o)

    Hi everyone,

I am running a bit late with displaying my latest yarn designs - they have already been sold, but I always feel that I should display them here on my blog as well because I am so proud of my handpainted and handspun yarns; they are very labour intensive and absolute beauties in themselves :o) Plus my oldest sister and her little girl came for a 3 day visit! Was I a happy bunny? YEP!!!! More than happy to see them...and so was Sam - he and my niece were unseparable as long as they were in the house together, UNBELIEVABLE!! Here they are, the two cuddlebums:

Not for one minute did Sam leave her side :o) He is a very good dog indeed.

My sister helped me with naming my latest elf yarn design, I wanted something really special this time, and after having given it a lot of thought she came up with "Calas Galathon", the heart of elfland.  Spot on, I would say:

it has found a new home in the US :o)

And my second design is a cosy and close to the skin soft Bluefaced Leicester yarn, which I have called "Tinkerbell II". Here it is:

I will be working on new yarn designs once I have finished the majority of custom orders. So let me get back to the wheel and do some pedalling ;o)
