Yep, I am currently working on a new custom order of handspun baby camel down/silk lace yarn, and I am also a very busy bee at the dyepot! New handpainted rovings will be coming soon and also freshly painted sockyarns!! I am doing my best to get them out and displayed as quickly as I can so you can view them in one of my online stores, on my website and of course here on my blog ;o) But tonight I finished 3 new lots of handcarded extra soft and extra yummy merino/silk batts. Oh I am sooooooo delighted!!! I have finished the bulk custom order of 16 skeins of handspun ultra soft and cuddly baby camel down/silk , and boy do they look scrumptous! Am I proud of them? ABSOLUTELY!! They will go to their new home in the UK tomorrow. Here they are:

8 full weeks it took me to finish those babes, so seeing the skeins all completed is such a reward indeed. Man, if I'm lucky I will get some photos of the finished knitwear....fingers crossed ;o)

Okay, here are 4 new Bluefaced Leicester wool rovings I painted on Monday, and I have also started a new range of handcarded multi fibre batts, which are also very handy and perfect to use for handspinning and felting projects:

The carded batts are ready for use as they are. They can, however, be split into layers or sections, depending on the planned project. These two are displayed in my Etsy store at www.alltheprettyfibers.etsy.com , and the 4 Bluefaced Leicester rovings are now for sale on my website at www.needleworks-pleasure.com . I hope that you like their colourways as much as me ;o)

I have just finished 4 new lots of superwash extra fine Merino/Nylon roving, perfect for handspinning long lasting yarns! They are all displayed in my Etsy store at www.alltheprettyfibers.etsy.com :

I find the superwash rovings a bit difficult to photograph because they have a fine sheen, which reflects the colours quite intensely through the camera. They are indeed very vibrant and strong, yep, simply gorgeous!!!

Also soon to come: Handcarded multicolour wool batts! Various shades, either commercially dyed or handpainted, along with silks and other fibers. BE SURPRISED!! ;o)

February is almost over, and I am slowly but surely finishing half of my custom orders for this month and March. The camel down/silk bulk order is just one more skein short...YEAHH... and I will then take a good photo of these gorgeous beauties to add it to my blog ;o) Here is half an order I finished and sent ahead, as it was requested by the customer, so she could already start on her corsage projects - handspun and handpainted extra soft Merino slub yarn, plied...absolutely YUMMY:

One set of a total of 100m was requested in sky blue and turquoise, and a second set of 100m to be painted in flower mauve, green and some daffodil yellow. I think both lots came out very well :o)

Another order in flower shades of rose pink, 4 different greens, rosewood and autumn violet came off the wool rack last night and will be going to a very lovely and chatty lady here in Germany:

A lot of people are now going for flower shades at the moment. I think we are all desperately waiting for spring to arrive, aren't we? Still I must say that this year's snow has been a great delight, at least I enjoyed the snowy days very very much. Probably because I hadn't seen any snow for so many years.

Okay, I am off again to finish some more yarn today. I think I want to take a day off tomorrow and just have a relaxed Sunday (wait and see....I will probably come up with something to do...as always...).

I couldn't help it but I had to spin and paint another lot of my favourite "Secret of the Ocean" yarn design, and this time I have used a soft and squishy New Zealand lambswool....ABSOLUTELY YUMMY!!! I really love the cornflower blue and the teal mixed with a little bit of purple, these three shades go together so well :o)

This colourway is ever so relaxing and lifts my spirit, especially now during the winter season. Plus I spun some more pure tussah silk lace yarn (actually it's a cobweb weight yarn but plied, so I call it lace yarn), perfect for lacework and tapestry/embroidery. The colour is a very vibrant and fresh aquamarine:

Okay, I have to get back to my spinning wheel and try to finish some more slub yarn because tomorrow I will be having a huge painting session for more custom yarns and new slub yarns for my ebayUK store. As to my bulk custom order of baby camel down/silk yarn: I am now at skein no.14, so I have to finish another 2. After that a new custom order of handspun and handpainted curly art yarn will keep me busy well into March. This is what I like most about my work, there is such a wide variety of yarn and fibre designs I make, and it never gets boring! Right, gotta go now.

There! I have finished my latest yarn design "Dragon Slayer"!! It's a 70/30 merino/nylon blend, sport weight and machine washable. It is displayed in my Etsy store at www.alltheprettyfibers.etsy.com  ;o)

Upon repeated request I have added a new fibre blend to my range of fibres, a 70/30 extra soft Merino/Nylon roving, superwash and therefore perfect for handspinning long lasting yarns that can be machine washed (cool woolwash). The blend will make fantastic knitwear and strong socks, and it also dyes like a dream. I am currently spinning one of the handpainted lots I finished a few days ago, and the wool spins ever so easily. Two lots have found their way into my Etsy store at www.alltheprettyfibers.etsy.com . Yep, the colours are indeed veeeery vibrant ;o) I am hoping to finish the merino/nylon yarn very soon so I can display a photo of it on my blog. But for now I have to move on with one of my custom orders...deadline's beginning of march, and I still need to finish 6 fingering weight skeins, which are very time consuming. Nevertheless the merino/nylon yarn will be finished within the next few days...I so want to see its colourway!!!!!!! ;oD

Hello everyone!! :o)

god, it's been long enough since I last wrote something for my blog...that's how it is when you have a lot of custom orders to take care of...and Sam still doesn't really want to help...SIGH....this is what he has been doing all day today:

Yep, looks really cosy in that warm sun now, doesn't he? Bless him, he will be 14 this spring. Of course you chase the sunrays at that age. Until about a week ago we still had a lot of snow, which stayed with us for a fortnight...and I so enjoyed every single day outside!! Winter landscapes are simply miraculous and ever so pieceful...

We also went out walking with my family and my sisters' kids...for the little ones we took along a wooden sledge so they could ride on it and have a really good time outside. It was lots of fun!!

But hey, for the rest of those days I was spinning, painting, sorting, carding lots of wool, and in between orders I managed to finish one Bluefaced Leicester yarn design, which I called "Flower Power". It is now displayed on my website at www.needleworks-pleasure.com

Apart from all that I have also been busy restocking my online stores, which was quite a task. So one new handpainted ultra soft merino/silk roving has found its way into my ebayUK store today:

I am sure I have missed quite a number of new items that I cannot remember anymore but which are certainly either in my ebayUK store or in my Etsy store....I hope you won't mind if I don't display photos of everything I made within the past 3 weeks...I am trying to keep track here though ;o)

Gotta go again, the sun is still out (it's now almost 16.00h) and I want to walk Sam while it's so lovely outside.
