This is my Sam - He and I live in Cumbria, Northern England. Well, he's actually a Scotsdog but he loves it across the border muuuuuch better! He looks so snug in his basket, I just had to show you guys.
Anyway, I've only just started this blogsite, and it has taken me forever to figure out how to get a picture on it - yes, I am a handspinner, not a computer-woman, BUT I eventually get there too...
This is what I am currently working on - it's just a fraction of an individual customer request for 1kg of handspun British Bluefaced Leicester knitting yarn, and yes, I finished it today!! It looks great, I don't really want to give it up. It's terrible, my yarns are my babies until they leave the house...sigh....So, tonight I will be starting on another customer order of 18 skeins of Shetland/Merino knitting yarn - anyone mention christmas preparations?? Oh I'm not that crazy about it anyway. I usually sneak my way out of cooking, baking, shopping, card writing, decorating etc. and rather go and hand dye some spinning fibers!! Oh, by the way - this one below is an 18micron supersoft hand dyed and handspun Merino yarn I made last spring. It found a new home with a very lovely American lady. I called it "A Midsummernight's dream" and I think it's such a great colour mix. What do you think?
Well, gotta go now - spinning wheel is calling and I need to do some serious pedalling if I want to finish 18 skeins before Dec.15th, but hey - it's definitely more fun than running around for christmas presents!
