Frequently Asked Question:

How can I purchase Auctiva Shipping Insurance for my packages?

There are several ways to purchase Auctiva Shipping Insurance. You can set up Auto-Insure Rules to insure packages only if they meet certain criteria that you define; you can purchase insurance while buying postage and printing a shipping label using Auctiva's Integrated Shipping Label feature; or you can purchase Auctiva Shipping Insurance policies manually after the sale, up to 72 hours after the recorded ship date.

To use the Auto-Insure feature

  1. Hover your mouse over the "My Account" tab and click on the "Auctiva Shipping Ins." link.
  2. Check the "Enable Auctiva Shipping Insurance" box.
  3. Under the "Auto-Insure Rules" heading, you can choose "Do not automatically purchase insurance", "Auto-insure all eligible items" or insure based on shipping service and/or final transaction price.
  4. Be sure to save your settings at the bottom of the page.

To purchase while using the Integrated Shipping Label feature

  1. Go to your "Sales" page and click the "Get Shipping Label" icon next to the transaction you need to ship.
  2. After filling out the package details, check the box at the bottom and enter the amount of insurance you desire where it says "Purchase insurance with coverage amount of $______."
  3. You will see how much the policy will cost when you hit the blue "Calculate Rate" button.
  4. Once you have confirmed the purchase of the label and shipping insurance, a policy will be generated that you can refer to in the transaction details.
