Best GPS System and Accessories

It is my humble opinion, that the best portable GPS system out there today is the Garmin GPS System. From my own experience, I found the Garmin Car GPS to be the easiest portable, handheld GPS to use.  Sure TomTom GPS System and Magellan GPS system have great features of their own, but from the standpoint of a GPS Newbie, The Garmin GPS was the best GPS Navigation System for me.

I was just about to be promoted to Police Patrol Sergeant and was being sent to a graveyard shift in an area of town I wasn't very familiar with.  Since pulling out a map book in the dark didn't seem feasible, I needed a portable navigation system that could do the job for me, and do it quick.  I needed to know the GPS System I was buying had current maps and could get me where I needed to go - quickly.

Not only did I need updated GPS maps, but I needed to know I could update the GPS software any time I needed and it wouldn't cost me extra money. Now I knew I could buy a cheap gps navigation system, but honestly, I didn't want to take the chance.  I had heard of: Magellan GPS Navigation, TomTom Gps Navigation, and Garmin GPS Navigation Systems, but when I looked at all the navigation features that came with each GPS system, I was sold on the Garmin.

Garmin Navigation systems have so many different models, there is sure to be one to match your needs.  There is the Garmin NUVI 200, 200W, 240, 250, 250W, 260, 260W and 270, the 350, 660, 750, 760There is also the Garmin Streetpilot, Garmin Quest, Garmin geko 301, Garmin Etrex, just to name a few. One of my most favorite features about the Garmin NUVI Gps Navigation Systems I bought, the GPS Voice.  I could listen to the voice in just about any language I wanted but I chose the male australian voice.  Just something about that voice that I found to be very enjoyable.

Don't forget to look into some accessories when you finally decide on which Portable GPS Navigation system to buy.  I highly recommend you consider getting the Suction Cup Mount so that you can mount your GPS device in your automobile windshield.  You might also want to consider a Travel Navigation Accessory kit.  You can find a bunch out there that are compatible with Garmin, Magellan, and TomTom GPS Systems.  This will assist you in protecting your investment and keeping it in working conditions for many more years to come.
