Condition: New Signed: E Herrera, Cochiti, NM Artist Info: This work of art was created by noted Cochiti artist Edwin Herrera. Edwin was born into the Elk Clan on 6/6/ 1966. He was taught his craft by his mother the late and noted potter Mary Frances Herrera. He is the brother of Dorothy Herrera, Mary Ramona Herrera and the uncle of Johnna Herrera. He specializes in wildlife figures, Nativities, bear sculptures, Storytellers and pottery bowls. He has been hard at work since the early 1980's. Edwin likes to create his pottery in the old Cochiti Pueblo designs. Description: What an adorable and precious piece this is. Mama bear is giving her little cub sitting on her back a pony ride. Just look at all the fine detail from the raised ears, big eyes, snout, babies smile, to the Bear Paws painted on both sides of her body.
