Yesterday was a bit of a disappointment in the sales stakes. I recently bought a much sought-after designer label knitwear garment, but it was too big for me so I decided to sell it on EBay. I had seen a similar one go for a high price and when I saw there were nine watchers tracking it, I was certain the item would sell on the auction date. But to my horror, there wasn't one single bid. I was really gutted. Even though I sold something else, it couldn't make up for the disappointment I felt not selling this. So I dropped the price and re-listed it, with the auction end date on Sunday. It's taught me a very valuable lesson - never count your chickens before they're hatched!
