Swings and Roundabouts

I've been reflecting on recent my foray into the arena of online buying and selling via EBay and have come to the conclusion that in terms of successes and failures it's very much a case of swings and roundabouts.
I'm still frustrated at not yet having sold a top brand item of cothing that I thought would literally fly off the server (not the clothes rail). There always seems to be several people "watching" but no-one pepared to click the "buy now" button, as yet.
However, to compensate for that failure I recently listed branded items of clothing that have just been hangly folornly in my wardrobe and gone unworn for more than a year. The plus side is that they are in excellent condition and appear attractive to potential purchasers. The items have all sold quickly in just a few days.
I've got some great bargains amongst my own purchases but have also made some unwise decisions, spurred on by the adrennalin rush of the bidding process, paying scant attention to whether I really need the item or if it will even fit. I have lived to regret such reckless behaviour and have learnt from my mistakes.
Always ask questions about size and measurements and about the fabric the garment is made from if not mentioned. These days I'm more selective, searching for specific brands and thinking more about how the item of clothing will look on me for my height and shape.
This is sometimes hard to visualise when the item is not on a model or mannequin. I try not to buy items on impulse that only have a few minutes left until the end of the auction so that I can have a few days to think about whether I should go ahead and buy. It seems to be working as I've changed my mind a few times this week on items I first thought I simply had to have.
