Visited four real-life auctions this last week, 3 via email commission bids and one for real. Picked up a neat Moorcroft pin dish and a super Wrenn loco (A4 Mallard) and had most success with the auction house furthest away (Suffolk) who will arrange to post a large quantity of railway engines, coaches and wagons. I wanted to drive down to collect, but the time element becomes a problem.
Can't wait to start checking the locos on the test track and photographing galore.
Finished listing all the current Wedgwood items, including a fascinating Candy Box http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=230477036472&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT from 1977, which was presented by the Sandbach Building Society to mark the occasion of their total assets exceeding £5,000,000 for the first time. Wonder how that compares with today's figures?
