What's a proof coin? A newly minted proof coin is Un-circulated, however it is the way it is made that causes a difference in appearance and qualifies it as a "proof". Proof coins are Minted specially for collectors. They do not go down the conveyor belt into bags but are hand carried and struck. See plenty of examples by visiting my ebay store carrconnection.
