This 19th century cupboard came from a Solicitors office in Truro. It seperates into two pieces consisting of:-
The top cupboard has two double panelled doors opening into a pidgeon-holed interior of 21 sections ~ ideal for storing all those socks and smalls. Both doors have small pine knobs and one has a key lock (no key available). The top of the cupboard is finished with a nicely swelled frieze.
The base consists of four half width drawers over three full width drawers. Each drawer has two pine knobs and is neatly dovetail jointed to the front and rear. Some of the drawers are partitioned inside (see photos). The drawers are recessed in slightly, as originally there would have been lockable cupboard doors in front of the drawers.
The whole piece has been painted in Farrow & Ball's 'Shaded White' with the cupboard door panels, the top of the base piece and the drawer knobs in Farrow & Ball's 'Hay', distressed and waxed giving a rustic, country appearance.
