Coromandel - very similar in appearance to Calamander.

Calamander:A valuable furniture wood from India and Ceylon, of a
     hazel-brown color, with black stripes, very hard in texture.
     It is a species of ebony, and is obtained from the Diospyros qu[ae]sita
     . Called also Coromandel wood.

Typically, very hard Dark wood with beautiful light graining. Extremely tough to work & only used on high quality furniture from 18th Century on.
