Vintage Barbie Doll Collections are on the rise but the prices are like the stock market they rise and fall all the time. The Number One Barbie Doll is an expensive investment but well worth it if you Love Dolls. Always keep your eyes open and alert while rumminging through old boxes of dolls and if you come across a doll with holes in her feet with copper tubes you might have hit gold. These gals are distinctive, they have a bewitched look to them with arched eye brows and thick black eye liner. Again the main tell sign on these gals are their arched eye brows, one hole in each foot with copper tubes, JAPAN on the bottom of one foot as well as Barbie Mattel written on her rear end. If you come across one of these you have found the diamond in the ruff. Mattel's #1 Barbie from 1959 which approx. only 3000 where made. These Number One Barbie's and I have seen them go up into the mid $20,000. range. If you come across a Number One, let me know and I will help you out as much as I can with any information I can. Now if you find a Barbie with No Tubes in her feet but she has the same arched eye brows and thick eye liner you may have found yourself another beauty and again diamond in the ruff. Then you may have found yourself another very hard to find Mattel Barbie Doll the Number Two, which are also very hard to find in a nice condition since so many where well Loved and lost thru all these years. Both the Number Ones and Two's only have the arched eye brows, so this is a sure way to know you found that special doll. Watch out for fakes they are out there and with research and looking at the collectors books you will and should be able to tell the differnce.
