On a recent trip to Larry's grandmother's house she asked us to raid her attic and clear out a bunch of items. Always happy to help Granny out, we did. You wouldn't believe some of the great things we found up there...old clothes from the 1920s, old books, tons of old toys...how many of you remember that old cotton candy machine that was a kids toy and the size of the kitchen table. One of the things we found was this toaster. She bought it, or rather Grandpap bought it for her and it was shiny chrome. He took it out of the box and set it up on the counter, tossed the box in the trash and waited to see how long it took her to notice. It wasn't long before that shiny metal object caught her attention and as much as she loved Grandpap for buying it, Granny just wasn't a chrome kind of gal, so she sent him back to the local store to get her an almond color one. He did and the chrome one got placed into the almond box and tucked into the attic, completely forgotten about until we found it. We've just started going through all the boxes we pulled out of the attic, but hope to find some more great treasures with fun stories to go with them.
