Ah, EBay. The website that connects you to the whole world! How many places have you connected with lately? Our kids and I are using ebay to help raise the funds for their educational experiences: bandtrip! They help find things around the house and elsewhere to list. They are learning about taking pics, describing, selling, good and, unfortunately, bad ebayers. Yes, too bad that they have had to learn about the ebayers who don't pay and such. But the good ebayers! What fun! The other day our 9 year old helped mail Ermenegildo Zegna jeans to a fellow ebayer in HAWAII. Just so happens our Josh just studied Hawaii. The best part? The kind ebayer even emailed us back about Hawaii. Our children have mailed packages to Japan, Turkey, England, Norway, various states and more. They are learning geography while learning about business. Ebay IS AN EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE! The latest find is my old Mary Quant dress. We contacted the Mary Quant company. Her company representative sent us to Bonhams auctioneers. Bonham's representative estimated upwards to $500 for the dress!! Then the history lesson: Mary Quant designed gogo boots, made the minidress popular, hung out with the Beatles and Rolling Stones. All this made interesting even more by the dress and mom's internship years ago in London! Now, they are looking up mom's other vintage dresses... the Jackie O' (Kennedy) dresses, grandma and grandpa's hawaiian clothes...will be interesting...and so much more. The kids are looking forward to our annual Fall bulbs sale too. We'll see what they come up with next.
