Buck Challenges Timber Wolf

You know I found a really neat knife product a little while back and I just have to tell someone about it ... so here I am, doing my first blog and hopefully not telling just one person, but many!

I am a new avid knife collector.  I have over 30 in my personal collection.  I have Buck, I have Boker, I have Gerber (to name a few) ... all outstanding quality.  Carbon steel blades, German steel blades,  stag handles, steel handles, rosewood and many other features adorn these knives.
Now we all know our knife manufacturers have gone off-shore.  Sorry Buck fans, yes, even my favorite Buck has some made-in-China items!  Which brings me to my point.  Timber Wolf  and Timber Rattler make some real good quality knives for the price. It is what I call a price performer or value for the money!  You just have to check out the Timber Rattler Gut Hook bone handle TR43, the Yellow Stag Hunter TR44, the Blazin Bowie German steel blade TW13 and Timber Rattler Master Wood Skinner TR31. There are lots of folders, but the two folders from Timber Wolf - the Blue Apache TW114, the Navaho folder TW84 are collectors. All these are off shore products that have little consumer exposure. But they are pretty awesome looking and functional knives. For you knife enthusiasts, the TW folders are pretty nice looking collectibles. The Timber Rattler Master Wood Skinners takes on the characteristics of the Buck Kalinga Pro and I am sold on Buck, my bias is with Buck. Having said that, I understand not everyone can afford the Kalinga Pro. So the TR 31 might work for you at a fraction of the cost.  For what its worth I thought I would share this observation. I have seen the Randals and Damascus blades, but not everyone can afford them.

There are alternatives for the practical hunter.
