I Carried My Espresso Stone Mountain Today

I love my handbags. Especially leather. Stone Mountain has great leather. It's quality. It's soft and smooth. It smells good. They're handsome bags, elegant bags, without being outlandish. Well-made. Lots of pockets and zippers. Pretty lining meant just for us. Now, Coach handbags are excellent. Expensive, rich. But sometimes you can see a Coach and say, "What were they thinking?" I was in a Coach store recently and overheard a young girl ask her Mama, "What's the big deal about a bag with C's all over it?" I didn't hear her Mama's answer, because I was hunting for the Special Deal. But it started me thinking...I wasn't the only one who thought some of those Coach's were real funny looking. But, we all have different tastes. I tend to choose handbags for my store that I want to keep. Not good for my wallet. I actually feel a loss when I sell some, because I wanted them. I had a plum Chelsea that sold recently. Broke my heart to wrap it up for shipping. I'm glad the buyer loved it, too. I used to choose my handbag to match my outfit. I now dress to match my purse. I see my outfit once when I put it on, when I check myself in the mirror before leaving the house. But I can look at my purse all day. I carry it, and touch the leather. I can smell the rich leather. It hauls my stuff, and organizes it. Hey, and it always fits! Unlike shoes, which are beautiful, and I collect them, too. But sometimes I get home and can't wait to take them off. Or, I have to buy a new pair while I'm out because my dogs are barking. I actually try to remember to carry a comfortable extra pair in the car, because you never know when you might go shopping and can't walk around in those 5 inch heels all day! I keep my purse organized so I can change it quickly. Wallet, checkbook, cosmetic case, eyeglasses, pen, keys, gum. Cellphone. Zip, zip, zip. Done. However, I often change my wallet to match my purse. I don't like going to the Coach store unless I'm carrying a Coach. Don't feel that way about Dooney. I actually own a Dooney and have never carried it. Still has the tags. It's beautiful, but I sold the one I actually was in love with. I will probably sell that Dooney, because I think it's too small for me. My DIL wants it, but I already gave her one. I have tons of quilted handbags. Vera's and Maggie B's. They're so homey, and comfortable. Pretty, but just don't go with alot of things. Really have to dress to match those. It drives me nuts to see someone carrying a quilted bag and it totally doesn't match their outfit. I love Kathy VZ, too. But her handbags are glitzy, and sometimes heavy, and I really have to be in the mood to make that much of a fashion statement. Now, she designed a wonderful line for her husband, B. Makowsky. They're really racking up, huh?!? Anyway, B. Makowsky bags are soft and make beautiful fashion statements and the leather is exquisite. The B. key-fobs can be quite heavy though. Kenneth Cole, and Michael Kors. Beautiful handbags. Cynthia Rowley, gorgeous. I was lucky enough to have a Marc Jacobs Heidi Bowler in my inventory. Sold It. Miss It. Adrienne Vittadini, Elliott Lucca. Classy. Liz Claiborne and Aigner-quality and reasonable. Different budgets for everyone. Handbags are for us. Men want them, too. They get one and call it a man bag. Hey, why not? We need them, we use them, we want them. I carried my espresso Stone Mountain today. It made me happy.
