Hi I'm Tali!

Ataylia (Tali for short) is an 8 month old Mastiff cross Great Dane and she is a lovely little dog.

Tali has recently been diagnosed with hip dysplasia which has been causing her right hip to dislocate on a regular basis.  As you can imagine, when her hip pops out, Tali is in a great deal of pain and can't use her leg - thankfully, it usually pops back in within a day or two.  Of course, Tali and I are now on first name basis with our local vet and we visit very regularly - unfortunately though, there is not much that can be done at this point other than managing her pain.

I have been advised that hip replacement surgery is the only option but this is a very expensive procedure.  I am selling all of my books on ebay and also selling my hand made natural body lotion, hand cream, moisturiser, shampoo, toothpaste and cleanser in order to raise money.  I need $6000 and the bank does not want to lend me this as an "unsecured loan" - my pup isn't seen as an asset.

So I'm trying to raise funds so that Tali can get a new hip and live a full, happy and pain-free life.  At this point, only 1 hip needs to be replaced, the other one seems to be holding up so far and may do so indefinitely.  Tali's big brother Saxon, a 6 year old German Shepherd also has hip dysplasia but is doing just fine so far.  I have approximately 4 months to raise the $6000 as the surgery can't be done until Tali is 12 months old.  Obviously, I'm desperately trying to save.
