As Owner/Designer at Hawaiibobsgardenart, My work ranges from crafting, harvesting, blogging, shelling and website design for Hawaiibobsgardenart . Outside of the office, you can find me collecting shells on the east and west coast of Florida, or checking out the latest restaurant to open in the Juno Beach neighborhood.
How did you get into design?
My interest in painting, travel, and the beach eventually led me to this design field. When I went to Sanibel Island, Juno Beach, I discovered my niche in natural design and just went with it.
What’s your favorite design resource and why?
I look at a lot of different sources…Etsy, Twitter, Library books etc. I like checking Twitter and Instagram because they offer such a big mix of inspiration. The Hawaiibobsgardenart blog is focused on natural ideas.
What’s your favorite thing you’ve worked on at Hawaiibobsgardenart?
Every project is a new experience and a new opportunity to grow as a designer. My favorite project I’ve worked on so far is the seashell night lights. It was an opportunity to use the shells I've collected from around the world and share with others, and was something that I’d wanted to do for awhile.
What’s the style of your home?
I’m currently renting my apartment on the golf course with a great view of the sunset and a few miles from the beach. My style is an odd blend of beach/sea life/seashells elements with a bit of “live fish” thrown in. I try not to stick to one strict style, while avoiding mixing too many things together.
How do you use Hawaiibobsgardenart?
I use Hawaiibobsgardenart mostly to reach other artist. I sell pods from around the world all unique and hard to find I always get request from artist for a certain kind of pod.I give them ideas for their basket weaving, gourd crafts, wood burning projects, and of course home decor in my scrolling gallery. I really like looking for ways to maximize the time I have. I’m looking forward to the day when I can spend the night at the beach – I have a lot of ideas I can't wait to share.
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
I like to watch and watch the sunsets and shelling, craft, drink champagne with strawberries, and try new restaurants in Jupiter, Florida it seems like there’s a new one opening every day!
