Make Good Money With Hallmark Keepsake Items
7:09 AM PST, 3/3/2012
Hallmark items have always been nice to collect although I personally don't collect them, I do buy them for my auctions and store inventory. Recently I have found two (2) really nice Hallmark items in thrift stores. I've spent very little on Both and they have proven to bring good profits to my small business. One of the ways that I check value and demand is with my iPhone while still in the store. I have several apps and even a scanner to check out the values and if they are moving on auction sites like eBay and Auctiva. Treasures and valuable item's are filling the thrift stores of America, do your homework, study the item and you just might find yourself making some extra cash. Sincerely, Gary's Variety -
Things That You Should know When Buying Lacrosse Protective Head Gear
5:41 AM PST, 3/3/2012
As I pick through thrift stores, yard sales, estate sales and any other place that I can find a bargain to bless someone else with I recently came upon a Riddell Lacrosse Helmet. Loving sports as I do I immediately knew that I had something pretty nice for the price of $2.25. After doing some home work I found that I could turn a pretty good profit with this pick. Other things that I didn't know about Lacrosse helmets; (1) They have to meet NOCSAE standards (2) They should be inspected by the manufacture every 2 years (3) You can fill the inside up with air to make a better fit for the person wearing it. On a final note always remember that when picking to resell is to have a passion for the item your buying and to learn all you can about the product so that you know that your customer will be pleased with making the right choice when buying from you. And yes knowing that you can turn a profit for your hard work. Sincerely, Gary's Variety -
Wood Identification Guide
6:52 AM PST, 1/21/2012
When attempting to identify a wood sample, it’s important to keep in mind the limitations and obstacles that are present in our task. Before starting, please have a look at The Truth Behind Wood Identification to approach the task in a proper mindset; I consider the linked article to be required reading for all those visiting my site with the intent of identifying wood. 1. Confirm it is actually solid wood. Before proceeding too much farther into the remaining steps, it’s first necessary to confirm that the material in question is actually a solid piece of wood, and not a man-made composite or piece of plastic made to imitate wood.....read more of this article by going to the site listed below. http://www.wood-database.com/wood-articles/wood-identification-guide/ Thanks! Keep your eyes open....
8:08 AM PST, 8/15/2010
Just recently I shopped at a sports shop that I noticed 3 tubs of brand new high quality official licensed sports caps. I roamed through the tubs and noticed many high quality sports teams still available. I ended up picking out about 12 that I felt would be a good product to market on my eBay store and asked the owner if they would accept an offer that I felt was realistic and fair. $4 dollars a piece now, if I didn't make sure to keep my eyes fixed on each and every square foot off the store, this great opportunity to build my business with high quality product would have passed me up. Keep your eyes open....business owners are consolidating big time and wanting to get rid of high quality product at real cheap prices. The world of online shopping is real and these opportunities give us as entrepreneurs a tremendous edge to make and build a business online. To your service!! Gary -
Liquidation
3:39 PM PST, 8/7/2010
What is liquidation? Liquidation is the process of realizing upon assets and of discharging liabilities in concluding the affairs of a business, estate, etc. Sounds pretty complex....its not. Just today I was in a sports store and noticed that there were 3 tubs of hats for sale. Each one $5 regular retail $24.95 this is liquidation. I ended up spending over $300 in the store not just the hats but actually got into the stock room and yes your right....much more. In our business of buying and selling we need to be open to all situations. So the next time your in a retail store, ask the owner if he or she is willing to liquidate any items that are not either selling or just is out of date. To your service! Gary's Variety -
6 Reasons to Shop at Thrift Stores

6 Reasons to Shop at Thrift Stores
- It’s cheap. I’ve gotten 3 pairs of pants, 5 shirts, a sweater, and a nice summer dress for under $50.
- The goods are in better condition than you might think. I’ve found once-worn sweaters and seen designer bags in thrift stores. Many of the clothes come from middle-class homes where people can afford to toss aside barely-worn clothes for the newest trend - which works out well for you, as a thrift store shopper.
- You’ll find things there that you can’t find anywhere else. When I think of great finds, I think of records (which I love, by the way), but it applies to vintage jewelry, unique t-shirts, and cool jackets, too.
- It’s environmentally-friendly. By reusing existing items, you’re decreasing the demand - and therefore production. Fewer resources are burned creating new goods and you saved the awesome t-shirt you just bought from becoming garbage.
- You’re supporting non-profit organizations doing good work. Within 10 miles of my home, there are thrift stores whose proceeds go to helping disadvantaged people find jobs (Goodwill), preventing blindness (Prevention of Blindness), and funding religious organizations and churches.
- It’s fun. If you have bargain-hunting tendencies, thrift stores might be a little piece of heaven for you. I love finding a good deal and knowing that if I’d bought that sweater new, it would’ve cost five times as much.
