Going super cheap - Gorgeous vintage LV Bag!
4:16 PM PST, 8/12/2012
This is a Super Special Vintage Louis Vuitton Bag… Okay – I admit it – I have way too many handbags. And I always want to keep the super cool vintage ones that I run into! This LV St. Cloud from the late 60s – early 70s is a great example of a bag I do not want to let go of! It is not only in very nice shape for an LV bag of its age, it is a vintage Louis Vuitton that is very hard to find. Most of the vintage Louis Vuitton bags that we run into were made in America. They are super nice – but this one is nicer – and much rarer.. the inside leather, like most vintage French made LV bags, is in great shape – without the weird peeling and stickiness that we run into with the vintage American Made LV bags. There is patina – and some typical light scuffing – but functionally the leather & the bag are sound! The few minor cosmetic issues could be left as-is – or the bag could be taken to an authorized LV repair genius like Cesar’s in New York City.. with a few tweaks, leather conditioning, scuffs filled in, edge coating refreshed here and there – and the strap replaced with a new one from Louis Vuitton – this would easily be a $2000 handbag, and its value would only continue to increase as it got older! This bag was a one owner bag, so was well cared for – the strap is original, and shows typical wear and some cracking for an LV strap of that age that was used regularly. It still is usable – but with just a simple strap replacement and nothing else – the bag will look even more amazing. We love the original owner’s monogram, this was done in Paris at Louis Vuitton – the little extra edge of LV snootiness that just takes it into the realm of sublime in a vintage handbag! Another rarity is the nickel hardware – not often seen on vintage LV bags – but popular because one wants to be able to match their platinum jewelry, dontcha know :) This gorgeous vintage Louis Vuitton St. Cloud Bag has been authenticated at The Purse Forum. I want to keep it.. but honestly.. I just have too many keepers.. So it is up for auction. The Buy it Now is low for – especially for a still usable (and gorgeous) vintage late 60s – early 70s French made Louis Vuitton Bag But – it may go for even less – so do jump in and bid on this – and spread the word! Off to auction we go…. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300756244856&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT Rare Vintage 70s Louis Vuitton Monogram St Cloud Shoulder Bag with Nickle Hardware - Authentic & Rare Rare Vintage 70s Louis Vuitton Monogram St Cloud Shoulder Bag with Nickle Hardware – Authentic & Rare -

Very stylish period piece with super sleek vintage screw on glass shades plus sharp atomic lacquered black wood and brass styling details. The pole is decorated with a large DNA inspired sculptural brass swirl that snakes around the pole, lower base has a swoopy 3 pronged modernist ebony black wood detail. This pole lamp also has a table built in - round and solid marble. This lamp looks & works great - it is over 50 years old, and does have some typical vintage wear, the lamp fittings are a little loose in spots, and could use a tightening, there is patina on the brass, some typical use & age related minor scratches & wear with some small pitted spots here and there - cosmetic only & nothing that impacts the structural soundness or functionality of this piece - it could benefit from additional clean-up and polishing, but overall this lamp displays nicely. In good vintage condition, works well & looks amazing as-is, a little extra clean-up would make it even nicer - or refinish/paint/re-wire to customize & make it even more spectacular.
