Celebrating life and family was part of our childhood. My mom and her mom before her were careful to make holidays and summer school breaks special times to celebrate and connect with one another. It is from these childhood and adult memories that the seed of A Heart Remembers was planted.
In 2008 my husband passed away and I began to think of ways to celebrate his memory and our life together. Moving forward meant I needed to preserve the past, celebrate it somehow. I wanted a way to express or capture our life together. Putting together a memory box with items from my husband's day to day life, helped me talk about precious moments we shared with grandchildren, friends and family. Holding a memory bear made out of my husband's clothing has been incredibly comforting and has helped me move forward in my grieving process. These simple acts have helped to preserve his life for future generations; it has also helped me and those around me, to tell their stories.
Remembering our loved ones and talking about them is satisfying, it enriches our lives and inspires those around us. Because celebrating life and family is important, I wanted to start a business that would help people capture their own meaningful memories one at a time.
