Autumn is my favorite season of the year. It is the perfect time to burn candles around the home, so that the vibes are cozy and inviting. Prim candles are a favorite of mine and especially votive candles. They are small in size, which makes them practical. The aroma is more robust, and the burning time is not too long or too short. Just perfect! Votive candles made prim style, do burn stronger due to the spices and herbs used in the candle making. But that also makes them stronger and packs a good punch in magickal matters. But, of course, care has to be taken when burning them. A large and sturdy plate is ideal so that it catches any melted wax. And, of course, always make sure that they are not burning close to anything flammable and away from children, pets, and drafty windows. So,don't wait any longer! We are finally experiencing the most lovely season of the year! (I think:))With the change of weather and the approach of Samhain/Halloween, we tend to look inward and reflect on the past months. What we have accomplished so far, no matter how small or big. Many get anxious as to not have accomplished something big,for example. But it is not that which matters, but the fact that indeed we create different goals as we go about life during a given year. Within the year, we change gears every day we live our lives. Even if we have a goal in mind that does not change, the way we go about obtaining it, may change through the course of the months gone by. If you haven't reached that goal yet, do not despair. The world still continues to go round and your life continues. What is important is that we take time to breath, reflect, relax and just continue to do our best. Enjoy this lovely season, the change of colors in the leaves of the trees. The Change of weather from hot to chilly. Monday- December 1st. Here we are already into the final month of the calendar year. The celestial happenings for this week seem to be very positive and strong. We have planets with Fire and Air element. Which are a good combination that help to make decisions based on logic rather than on an emotional level. Today we have a trine. Sun/Sagittarius with the Moon/Aries. This trine sets the foundation for the change on December 4th (Thursday), when Mars moves into the energy of Aquarius. Their Fire and Air elements combined are a power house indeed! All sorts of communications are fired up (Mars) and taken to a new level of development and transformation (Aquarius). The Full Moon that will take place on December 6th (Saturday) will have the moon in aspect to Gemini, which brings the emotional note into the month of December. Gemini connecting to Uranus-which is the ruling planet to Aquarius- and this planet being aspected by Mars, is a positive exchange of planetary energies that can be used in our daily lives if we need to tap into them. Remember! the Gemini Full Moon on Dec. 6th is the last of the year and Full Moons are perfect to bring a closing to past and incomplete projects, resolve issues in relationships, any other matter that needs to be tidied up. The mental attitude set by trine of Uranus-Sun and sextile to the Moon, is all about information. So what dear reader does it all mean and how can we tap the energies for this week? Whatever decisions that need be made that will have a long lasting effect, are best made under the combined energy of Mars/Aquarius. Mars gives you the fire to get you moving, and Aquarius helps discern and analyze the best course of action, thus the best decision for your given situation, lets say. It is definitely an excellent way of avoiding making the wrong decision, or be impulsive. This combination is very much helpful now, with holiday shopping and spending in full swing. Many do impulse shopping, thinking that it will be all right, that you will be able to take care of those credit bills etc, later on, with that extra bonus from work ... don't let all that Christmas-y music in the mall or the colors of the season (which are very much targeted at customers to pump up the shopping psyche) persuade you to spend with your "heart"! better use the will power and logic that these two energies create to extend both through out the holiday season. Monday November 3rd We started off the week with a void of course Moon (1:05 a.m. PST) right on a trine. Moon in Pisces/Saturn in Scorpio. This is an easy aspect (trine) that the Moon went void on, plus it happened early a.m. The moon aspects Aries at 10:53 a.m. PST. The beginning of the working week for many, thus it puts most of us in a frame of mind of starting anew, a fresh start from the past week and weekend. With an Aries Moon, we might be eager to start off new projects, with all that fire that Aries brings in its wake, but the aspect begins on a Moon - day. (Monday) so it tempers somewhat the impetus behind the firebrand Aries. The thing to focus on, if working on spell work to begin or change something, is to keep it going, and repeat if necessary, as Aries influence is not as willing to finish as it is to start off. The impulsiveness of Aries however can be tamed if we use the sextile happening at 2:51 p.m. PST (which will last until 9:51 p.m.) We have a sextile happening with Sun/Scorpio-Pluto/Capricorn. Sextile links planets that have elements that are compatible to each other. In this case we have water (Scorpio) and Earth (Capricorn). The sextile in these two elements encourages a positive interchange between them. Which in magick translates to having active energies that will work well with your spell work, or magickal goal. MAGICKAL TIP: If you need to keep that fire from Aries going on for the day and the rest of the week, a good idea is to channel the energetic aspect of this fire sign. Bless and empower a red votive candle for your intention, with a needle lightly inscribe the symbol for Aries on the candle, the Moon symbol (to keep it balanced) and your astrological sign as well. Light your candle and gaze at its flame for a few minutes, thinking of what you want to accomplish. Snuff out and go about your day. You can do this each morning before starting out your work. If you wish, you can keep for other times that you need to channel Aries energies again. Remember, Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, making it a perfect starting point for projects of all kinds. Mercury Retrograde - October 4th 10:02 a.m. PST-1:02 EST p.m. Ends on October 25th at 12:17 p.m. PST-3:17 p.m. EST. Mercury, the planet that is one of the most dreaded when in retrograde (it seems). This planet goes retrograde every three months. Being the head of the communication department, it affects that area in every day life. When retrograde, Mercury isn't paying close attention to where he is going, since he's watching where he came from. It means this planet, that helps his department to run smoothly otherwise, is not attending to details as usual. What dear reader, can we do during the retrograde period, and how to accomplish tasks in the middle of Mercury's retrograde? Since a retrograde is spent moving "backward", new plans do not go forward well, during this period, because we are not supposed to be moving forward. However it is a good time to look over what's happened so far of what's gone of the year, absorb our experiences just as we do when we sleep. It is just assessing the past in preparation for our next stage of activity. During the retro period is best to keep in mind, that we can tackle activities that have "re" attached to the beginning of the word. renew, return, rewrite, repair, reschedule, restore, replace, re-organize (ok, so this one could be seen as redecorate :=)) etc. you get the idea! My nugget of wisdom for this time, which seems to send some people scrambling to finish projects or goals before this period hits and keep watching over their shoulders in case the dreaded retrograde come knocking at their door, is just not to "react" to it as if all is doomed and computers will globally cease to work and the postal office is late with all letters and packages...(wait! that doesn't need a retrograde..) Anyway, just take time to do a quick review of things to do when the retro period is over. *********New Moon in Libra********** 11:14 p.m. PST-Tuesday -- Sept. 23rd 2:14 a.m. EST - Wednesday -- Sept. 24th ___________________________________________________________ A busy astrological week. Yesterday Monday 22nd, right on the Fall Equinox, Pluto ended its 5 month retrograde. Pluto is back, which means transformation is to come with its energies of changes. _____________________________________________________________ Libra new Moon is a new beginning, with balancing energies added to new Autumn season. ____________________________________________________________ Thursday Sept. 25th Uranus trines with Jupiter, a needed shot of energy for Uranus, to keep this planet's (Uranus) energies positive. ____________________________________________________________ Then on Saturday Sept. 27th Mercury enters Scorpio. It will be aspecting this sign for 2 weeks. This marks the end of the Mercury/Venus aspect. ___________________________________________________________ So dear reader, what does all that mean to us mere humans you may ask? Pluto is an intense planet, it has been on a sort of 'holiday' shall we say and now is back renewed, filled to the brim with energies of transformation, and as far as naysayers, and prophets of doom see it, it will happen in politics, social lives and the economy (ugh..) but then again, isn't that happening already? yes, but Pluto 'intensifies' all that to the point of crisis (or so the naysayers are saying). When it comes to everyday life, for us humdrum and ordinary people, living our lives to the best of our individual ability, the impact of all those planetary energies might hit us with changes we don't want to happen. Money being scarce and maybe the city council of your town, is not doing anything worthwhile for the community. Over all making you think your tax money is not being put to use where it matters, etc. ___________________________________________________________ Add to that the intensity of Scorpio being aspected by Mercury the communicator of the planets. This means feelings are intensified. Family or friends might feel the sting of Scorpio more than you or yourself, could feel pent up emotions rising to the surface and making things a bit uncomfortable for all around. It all depends really to what degree we feel all these energies flying around and how we verbalize or act out on it. Fear not dear reader! for there is always something good coming out of the seemingly doomed energies for this week.<b> Uranus trined by Jupiter means, that we get to see the funny in things :=) and are reminded for the trillion time that even in the worst of situations, we can rely on our inner sense of humor to make it all more bearable. __________________________________________________________ Plus we are told by the same naysayers that even though Mercury's aspect to Scorpio brings too much intensity, it also helps to boost projects, and it even helps to put to good use those 'secret' strategies (like the one about calling in sick, but really just wanting to take the day off, etc :=) ___________________________________________________________ So dear reader the gist of it all and the little nugget of wisdom I can leave for you, is that no matter what is going on out there in the far away galaxy, with the Moon and the Sun and the assorted planets. Whether we have accomplished big or small things. That is not what is important, but the fact that we have put effort into these goals of projects. It is a good feeling knowing that we have not sat idly, letting life gone by, but that we have taken active participation. Even if our goal was to grow veggies during the summer, grow our own herbs, finish putting up all those old pics in albums -yes, some of us still have oodles of old pics around the house:) - or uploading them into our computers. The point is to do something, to create something large,or tiny, simple or complex!
