Nearly 30 years ago we managed to fulfill our life's desire, to own a large country property. In the hills of Hinsdale Massachusetts we located the ideal property, a large farmhouse on 6 plus acres. After we researched the history, we developed a business plan for a small Bed and Breakfast Inn. We began renovating soon after closing on the property. We opened a small video store after renovating two rooms. This, plus full time jobs helped us continue our renovating.
Lo and behold after starting building the scaffolding for the front outside of the house we got our first request to stay in our Inn. Way too early for us our young son and his friends pitched in and soon our dream came through.
We have spent years furnishing our large 16-room farmhouse using auction purchases so the addition of an online business upon Bob's retirement was a natural progression. Today we have been running the Bed and Breakfast over 25 years with a high percentage of repeat customers letting us know how well we had accomplished our dream.
Both of us have been stricken with the collecting bug. Just about everything we have sold we also have decorating or in use throughout our home and business. We love connecting other hobbyists and collectors with objects of their affection. Especially please is when we can connect someone with some of his or her family’s or town's past.
