  • August Nights and Vintage Aprons

It is the middle of August already, and I am thinking of Autumn. A hint of Autumn in the Summer night gets me anxious for those cool evenings without Bugs! With Autumn approaching my thoughts turn to Cooking. Haven't done much of that over the summer, but as the weather turns cooler, I love to get out the Crock Pot and put on some of Gigi's Famous Chicken Noodle Soup or My Famous Pasta Sauce! Of course, when I cook, I always wear my Apron. " Where do I wipe my hands?" asked my Granddaughter Kaily when were we baking. "On your apron, of course". I proceeded to tell her about Aprons, and their uses, but I think that most of all, she was thrilled to learn that she could just wipe her hands right there, and not have to interrupt our baking session to run off the sink and clean up. Vintage Aprons have become part of my life since 2007. When Mrs. Keagy passed away, I was fortunate to purchase several of the Vintage Aprons that she made. I admired them, and now treasure them. I have gotten really intersted in the Aprons. The fabrics, the styles, the designs,,, all wow me! I now collect , buy and sell aprons on Ebay and Etsy. I have also been fortunate enough to share these lovely treaures with a Wine Company out of the Seattle WA area called Mad House Wife Wines. The spokes models for the company wear the Vintage Aprons I have chosen for them, as part of their "uniform" at Wine Tasting Events. How cool is that? Back to Aprons.... Next time... Gigi Penny

I am pleased to offer many items from the Estate of My Dear Neighbor who passed away at the tender age of 91 in October 2006. She was my neighbor for over 20 years and was like a mother to me. Not just a neighbor, a mother, but a real friend and I miss her terribly. I was able to buy alot of her things at the auction, and my husband and I were fortunate enough to be able to buy her home. A cute bungalow built in the 1940's and the House Of My Dreams... We're moved in now ,and the house is full. I have enough hankies, scarves, hats, coats and clothing to last a life time, so I am offering more of these items for auction so that the world can own a piece of the estate of this wonderful woman. All items have been well cared for and will come to you in the condition which I came to own it. Believe me, the condition is Very Good to Mint on all items. So, if you would like more information or would like to own something from this wonderful woman's estate...Bid and you shall receive. Best regards, Penny and Lee Miller @ Grandmother's Dream...
