Amazing detail to add some whimsy and fun to your fairy village. These hand carved doors are made from Cottonwood, gathered on the banks of the Assiniboine River in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Once dried, the wood is studied to determine the best wood carving that would be created from this piece of wood. Now we can call this recycling, or we can call this art! I call this a gift, right from the brain of the artist, Roger Chemar who is brilliant in his field. Besides making this a fun and creative piece of work, he has made this a hobby for his retirment and can spend hours whittling away at the wood, leaving everything to the imagination and the ability of his tools to create something unique and different. These fairy doors are unique and different. What little girl wouldn`t love playing in her faify village for hours. We have a variety of fairy doors, whimisical wizards or wisemen and some Native American Indian sculptures, so be sure to drop by our ebay store at ChosenTreasures4U -

We have some amazing new wood carvings hand carved in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. We sell on ebay under seller name ChosenTreasures4U. Our seller name is more than a name, it represents the type of items we sell. Not just anything just to make a sale, but quality items and gifts to make a statement of change, of art, and of creativity in this ever-changing world. About the wood carvings. It is said that the forest will stand for as long as the Wood Spirit remains to keep order. And if you're lucky enough to see one, health happiness, and good fortune will be yours. However, that does not happen often. Wood Spirits would rather see than be seen. Most sightings are by children or by the pure of heart. When you take your Wood Spirit home, give it a place of honor. Include the Wood Spirit in the audience when you tell jokes (Wood Spirits have a delightful sense of humor). If you do these things, your Wood Spirit will bring his gentle wisdom, humor, and luck into your home. Enjoy! History of this artwork: ROGER CHEMAR is the artist. Roger spent his working career in the Tyndalstone industry helping to create many Manitoba, Canada Landmarks. His woodworking hobby began over 40 years ago, out of which he has whittled away at alot of wood, making each piece unique and different. His wood carvings display an appreciation of the natural beauty of the wood which is evident in his work, along with attention to fine craftsmanship. Roger began to carve his "Spirit Bark Carvings" in 2000. They are made from cottonwood bark gathered along the riverbanks of the Assiniboine and Red Rivers. The " spirit" emerges from the grain of the wood as Roger hand carves the pieces. Some wood pieces have wood burnt detailing and they are finished with an environmentally safe bee`s wax coat (low lustre) for protection and enhancing the beauty of each unique piece. There is a hole on the back of the piece for ease of hanging in location of your choice. Each piece is signed with his signature and the year of his awesome work. When I first met Roger, he exudes a quiet and kind demeanor with warm eyes. Artistic, humble and kind is best to describe this artist. He brings the wood to life with each unique piece of artistry. A real gift, he has been blessed with a true talent.
