This toy looks great displayed for Christmas on a mantle, with a doll collection or with other vintage toys. All the wooden pieces are precut ready for you to cut out the included paper images and adhere them to the sides. Then you glue all together using the doweling system also included. Also expect to find wonderful detailed instructions with clear photos illustrating step by step procedure. All you add is scissors, clamps, glue, and stain. What could be easier. Jean Nordquist's Paper Doll Puppet Theater is an easy to assemble and fun project to create a vintage 1920's actual theater for display or play. Children could work with parental guidance and accomplish this kit in an afternoon. It takes about three hours to complete once your additional supplies are gathered. The $35 kit for this project includes all 14 precut wood pieces, all cardstock images to cover the theater, and the 6 cardstock images of jointed puppet characters which include a girl, clown, Golliwog, dog riding a bear, clown riding a donkey, and a monkey riding an elephant. The puppets are suspended from the wooden rafter with fine black wire also included. You provide scissors, clamps, black paint and marker, and glue. You will also need a needle and thread to connect the puppet joints. Children can actually play with this theater and make the figures dance and move about the stage. . . OR . . . this would make a darling display to be featured among dolls in a collection.

"Dolls in Boxes" is a workbook for any doll collector or doll maker of both current day or antique and antique reproduction dolls. It gives you a new and different way to display your dolls. Both the doll and her wardrobe including her underwear may be shown all at once. The doll's wardrobe isplayed in a box arranged among other paper designs relating to the doll like her toys giving the collector and viewer an entirely different vantage point. You will need to add your own cardboard, glue, cutting knife, cover papers like those used in scrapbooking, the dolls, any jewelry you might want plus the doll's clothes. Themes include a sewing display for a pin cushion doll, a 5" baby doll, a 7" to 8" Asian doll, a 6" bunny doll, assorted 3" Cupid dolls plus many more smaller all bisques.
