Jean & Ken Nordquist Antiques & Collectibles

Now you can create from Jean Nordquist's newest doll kit a fully filled Alice in Wonderland display in a doll trunk 7-1/2"L by 4-1/8"H by 5-1/8"D. This project includes the assembled wooden trunk ready for you to paint and paper with included graphics plus the tray for you to paint, and all the cardstock printed graphics ready for you to cut, fold, and paste together to display within. These display items include 9 miniature Alice illustrated boxes, paper dolls, playing cards, masks, and a little Alice book. You may elect to add your own doll(s)and other 3D items like a tea set, bottle, keys, and related items. Doing this is strictly optional as the trunk is fully filled without adding more. My little doll which is not included in 3-1/2"tall.

This is the third in our doll screen series. It is our project VPDJN117 entitled Antique Reproduction Four Panel Screen. The doll size most suited to it should be around 7" to 8" tall. My photo on the project cover shows two dolls. My antique reproduction French Wrestler and my antique 8" china. The screen images are taken from an old Anheiser advertising folder that folded into four sections. I have altered the images making them suitable to display with antique style dolls. This kit includes not only the four panels die cuts to fit the original image shape but also 4 Dresden gold foil stars, 4 intricate horizontal Dresden designs that fit along the bottom of the screen, and a length of small Dresden border to glue to the top edge and outer side edges. Three cloth hinges also included. A collection of dolls is always more interesting when displayed with accessories that feature them. This screen is definitely designed to show off your smaller dolls.

I just love Raphael Tuck antique paper toys. I also love to collect them. In this project VPDJN118, Antique Paper Toys for Dolls & Ornaments, I have reproduced my latest favorite, a set of five different animals with five different riders. The animals are jointed in their middles. The riders are all interchangeable. I have reproduced them in three sizes so they can be shown playing with dolls ranging from 12" and up down to dollhouse scale. The five different animals include a bear, zebra, goat, pig, and dog. The five riders are 2 clowns, 2 girls and a boy. I've also included paper brads to make one size move in the middle. Also find one gold foil paper Dresden that may be used to create an ornament. All sizes and designs could actually be utilized this way to display. You may also pose all standing alone. . .or display with dolls such as Bleuette, mignonette, and the American Girl. That is to say they show well with both contemporary and antique dolls as their props or toys.

If you are looking for a relatively simple and quick hand made item to display this holiday season or to give as a gift with a wonderful vintage feel, then Jean Nordquist has just released the perfect kit for you. It comes two ways with one option primarily in black and gold background papers and the other in reds and greens. Both feature a darling spun cotton angel dressed in cotton batting and everything you need to create this angel or snow child is included plus her imported German Dresden gold foil doilies to mount her to the center of your wreath. The wreaths are accordian folded cardstock that you fold and glue into a circle which is then flattened and decorated with all the other gold foil Dresdens which depending on the kit include wings, stars, snowflakes, and a tiny gold tree for the angel to hold. You are able to adjust the overall finished size of your wreath from 9-1/2" to 11-1/2". You may display your finished wreath by hanging it or sitting it in an easel on your mantel. Made in the smaller size it could even top a Christmas tree. This project takes a person skilled with cutting with scissors and gluing about 2 to 3 hours to complete. All the vintage angel images are derived from Jean Nordquist's vintage paper collection.

Just completed March 12th 2017, the much asked for small doll display for showing off all your dolls 4" to 5" tall. This replica box is a copy of a celluloid boudoir display box from the 1890's. Our kit features the box front and back already constructed for you from wood and chipboard. Our kit also includes all graphics needed plus imported German gold foil Dresden borders and trims as shown. You add your own dolls and other items like clothing on the drop down front to show off. This presentation works well for mignonette all bisque dolls, 1" scale miniature dolls or smaller, and any other dolls in this size range made from any material you desire. Accessories displayed with the dolls are entirely at your option and do not need to follow our examples exactly. Use your imagination and be creative.

Jean Nordquist released her 7th replica Bliss dollhouse on February 21, 2017. Standing at 15-1/2" high by 9" wide by 6" deep, this house is a true 1:24 ratio or scale. This kit includes a partially assembled wooden house, a wooden base, roof and front porch. There is also a gutter, dormer, and chimney. All either need to be finished by painting or covering with included graphics. There is also interior wallpaper and cardstock furniture for you to make. Peddler dolls displaying their wares are one of my favorite types of dolls. Create a wonderful Halloween cabinet 13"H x 4"D x 15"L with doors closed or 25"L when they are open. Jean Nordquist's newest Halloween project includes complete assembly instructions, over 30 Halloween graphic images to incorporate, 4 honeycomb designs and building plans for the cabinet. If you do not build in wood an uncovered cabinet is available. The cabinet exterior is finished using Martha Steward antique crackle paint and this process is also included and explained in full...though the user must purchase their own paint separately. This cabinet is also a great way to display your own smaller Halloween novelties.

Now you can make a replica Santa Claus Cabinet project inspired by a rare circa 1900's original designed by Bliss. Jean Nordquist's project includes fabulous graphics to cover the front of this cabinet with sliding doors. When opened they reveal Santa (not included) and his toys which are also included for you to make from 7 die cuts. They include a sled, doll buggy, doll house, ark, wagon, a Santa boot to fill, and a doll trunk. Instructions are also included for building the cabinet or you may purchase a finished cabinet from the Nordquists to fill and cover.
