The Grass Snake story began in 2000, when founder Frank accidentally cut through the live electric cables of both his lawn mower and hedge trimmer on the same day. Badly shaken, Frank decided to do something about it.
“I came to the conclusion that trying to control a live electric cable by throwing it over your shoulder or wrapping it round your hand, simply to mow the lawn, was both ridiculous and inherently dangerous,” said Frank. So he went into his garden shed and started experimenting with lengths of
bamboo, strips of duct tape and some wire coat-hangers.
The award winning Grass Snake Cable Grip acts as a safe and simple ‘hands-free’ cable manager for use
with electric lawn mowers, grass trimmers, hedge trimmers, lawn vacuums and chainsaws.
8,500 accidents involve the use of garden tools in the UK every year – 7,000 specifically
involving electrical gardening equipment. Trips and falls are the biggest single cause of accidents, allied to the fear of damaging or severing the electric power cables on gardening equipment.
