I have only one regret, and that is the fact that pictures just do NOT do these lampshades justice.

    Comments from the Creator:

The "French Maid" shade is so adorable, with the Venise lace and creamy lace above it -- I can't adequately describe how froo-froo it is!

The clean and simple look of the paws shade, Sassafras, just grabs me.  I've made a wastebasket out of this fabric too, I just love it.

Burlesque with its marabou and extravagant theme is fun personified.  ADORABLE!!!

Wings 'n Wands will capture a mystically themed bedroom and tie it alllll together.  Michael Miller is always my top pick for a designer, but really this fabric is inspired during the times of Harry Potter!

You say you want a revolution (ahhh the Beatles)?  Well, this is it.  Black and white was never so outspoken, what a shade.

  • !!! 4 MORE SHADES TODAY !!!

    5:32 AM PST, 6/27/2007

I promised I would do some kiddy themed shades, and also a Doggy Chronicle shade.  I ALWAYS keep my promises.

Later today I'll put them up for auction but briefly:

    NEW RELEASES
    NAME/LINESizeColors/Description
Sassafras/A Look BackMedColors are pink, lime on white.  Paw prints w/darling puff trim to match.  Perfect for a little girl's room.
Dog Gone It/AttributesMedBlack & White. Doggie Newspaper & Mattisse prints w/beaded eyelash trim.  Arf!
Froo-Froo/Ooo La LaMedSidewalk in Paris print in Sorbet colors with dangly black-hearted Venise and cream laces.  Simply to die for, has the look of a French maid.  Cheeky thing.
BurlesqueMedNeon brights on black.  There are pictures of boudoir slippers trimmed with marabou and tossed with stars on this print, so I trimmed the shade in Real black marabou.  What a darling shade for your vanity... tres chic.

You may have noticed some items from China listed -- okay, they aren't shades... but there you have it.  Truely lovely items that need a home.  I can take more pictures  if you'd like to see different angles, just ask.

I'll be back later with the shades, J

  • More to come

    8:52 AM PST, 6/25/2007

The first "kid's" shade is up for auction -- these go quickly (I sold the first 2 before making it onto E-Bay!) so if you are looking for Harry Potter inspired accents for your child's room, go have a look.

Other possibilities would be to have me make 2 matching mini-shades rather than one large one, or how about a tissue box holder to complete the theme?

Next will come some French, or Paris themed shades, yummy sorbet-colored prints and then start the Holiday season offerings.  I can't wait to get started!

REMEMBER: CUSTOM SHADES, TISSUE-BOX HOLDERS, EVEN WASTEBASKETS ARE ALL POSSIBLE!

  • Oh My!

    7:49 AM PST, 6/22/2007

Who knew I was so clever?  I did!  I am MaidenShade -- that's right, I AM made in the shade -- or I'm the maid who made the shade... hmmm.

Anyhow, I've got seven new shades ready to photograph and put up for sale.  Really lovely ones too.  Please read about them below:

    • Just in time for the latest fascination with ballroom comes a large, regal shade called “Elegance” featuring glamorous men and ladies, dancing under the stars with a luxury liner poised out on the ocean behind them.  It is bejeweled with Swarovski crystals, trimmed out in jet-black beaded eyelash and just glorious.

    • You must look at this precious mini from the A Look Back line called “Verse” with the palest of pink, golden tan, and green that has calla lilies and tropical leaves tossed on a creamy background and embellished with such a darling, delicate pink and cream trim.  To complete this shade I've kissed the corners and lengths with sweet ribbon roses.

    • A medium shade from the A Look Back line called “Revolution” using In Crowd fabric by Alexander Henry, which features famous faces done in a pop art style design.  Who can you recognize?  I spotted Twiggy!  This fabric is very reminiscent of the work by 1960’s pop art designer Andy Warhol.  Accented on two sides by white on white material that has a scattered star pattern and set off with far-out black gimp and beaded eyelash, this fab and mod lampshade will appeal to the baby-boomer in your life.

    • You can almost see her slaves fanning her with these fabulous, gilded peacock feathers – it’s “Cleopatra” a medium shade from Her Majesty’s line.  A lovely, understated shade with jewel-tones and rich, brown-hued fancy braided gimp and beaded eyelash this is one of my favorites!

    • Two more mini shades for your consideration are “Flora” from the Three Godmothers line and “Treasures” from Her Majesty.  This tiny shade reminds us that fall is just around the corner.  Lovely bronzes, golden browns, a touch of autumnal burgundy, and greens make up Flora’s fabric.  Gilded leaves and grapes are tossed on a black background, edged in a coppery gimp, and finished off with copper and brown beaded eyelash.  Treasures is a yummy Mum-ie print!  Large gilded ginger jars and Mums are tossed with intricate designs – plums, creams, and greens mix with gold and shades of brown.  Surrounded by plum beaded eyelash, this shade is just smashing!

    • Now how can I resist Ms. Princess?  I can’t, so I use her again and again.  This shade is cone-shaped (3x6x7.5 inches), its unique look screams “LITTLE GIRL’S ROOM”.  Coy Chihuahua’s are dressed in jackets, dresses, shirts, or nestled in a teacup wearing only a bow.  So many colors, it’s sure to go with her décor – pinks, purples, browns, creams – even orange, lime green, and black!  Does your princess love pink and purple and dressed up puppies?  Then please get her Ch’ Wow Wow.  It is adorable!
