  • Spider Web Chopper Seat

    7:32 PM PST, 2/13/2008

Here is something completely new. This is a new spider web design that is hand dyed onto veg-tanned leather. This technique allows me to use this dyeing process to give the seat the look of a tattoo. My vegetable tanned tooling leather is the finest 100% US made, tooling leather available on the market today. It gives the best tooling results, and is one of the most durable leather available. The bottom of the seat is also covered with veg tanned tooling leather. The pan is made of 1/8" inch thick steel. This makes it a very rigid and strong seat pan, that will be able to take a lot of abuse. I wouldn't think of using aluminum pans like some other manufactures use, because all the weight of the rider is resting on the welded bolts, and when aluminum is put under stress it tends to crack. The pan measures 10 1/2" wide by 14" long. The studs in the rear are spaced 7" apart. Custom sizes are available. I can offer custom sizing because I am the manufacture not an importer of these seats. I use closed cell neoprene foam on my seats. Closed cell means that the foam is made up of many micro pockets of air. This provides better cushioning than open cell foam because open cell foam lets the rider bottom out. This allows me to be able to give the seat a more slim profile. They are not imported, and mass produce. They are fine examples of American craftsman ship. After the seat is finished and dyed I apply a coat of Aussie leather conditioner. This is a bees wax based leather conditioner that also helps repel water. Old world American craftsmanship is rare but still out there, if one takes the time to look around. You can call me at 314-392-7841 to ask questions, or to make a payment over the phone. I accept most major credit cards. As always, thanks for shopping at Motheroad Customs. Where quality and craftsmanship come first.
  • BROWN ALLIGATOR SEAT

I am selling Brown Alligator Embossed Leather Chopper Bobber Harley Spring Solo Seat. We start with 1/8" steel pan built in our shop. The pan is very thick, rigid, and sturdy. The pan has a kickup in the back to hold you on the seat. The seat is ergonomically correct to provide a comfortable ride. The seat measures 10" wide by 13" long. The studs in the rear are 7" apart. Next we lay up and shape high density urethane closed cell foam on to the pan, to give good support and comfort. Then the foam is covered with 3 layers of 100% heavy duty leather. Lastly, it is sewn together with heavy duty nylon thread, similar to the way a shoe soul is sewn onto the upper. The leather is alligator embossed cowhide. The qualities of this leather are long life, and durability. The shape and profile of the seat is designed to sit low, to give a slim profile. This is a new brown EMBOSSED LEATHER SEAT with a classic oak leaf pattern. This is a very nice American made embossed leather. It is thick, supple and very durable. Some of the embossed leathers out there are very thin and poorly made.
