  • Make A Ladder of Books!

Come on, get up, and take a climb! Ever since I was a child, I have always like climbing ladders. Up I would climb, up to new heights, new vistas, up where the air took on new meaning, the higher I would climb; the closer I would come to God. Than the day comes, and unfortunately, the ladder is put to the aside, slowly gathering dust in the corner of my mind. Day to day functioning as an adult brings on adult routine, raise a family, go to work, buy a house, always living on the same wrung. Live the same way, eat the same foods, vote the same party, all this time the ladder waits. “Climb, you must.” calls the subtle voice from within “The game is hide and seek, you see, and every step offers more splendor, more light”. My ladder is made of wood, reaching to unfathomable heights, built to bare the weight of a lengthy climb. Smartly constructed, in a fashion of old, my ladder is wider at the base and narrower at the top, where Sol Ivictus shines forth on the mind hewn rungs. Ladder Climbing 101 1) Always, plant your ladder on a firm, supportive base. 2) Climb carefully, and only when you have the proper footing. 3) Don’t look down. You have already been there, and there is no need to fear change. Keep your eyes on the goal. 4) Don’t worry about the next step until you complete the step you are on. 5) Never ever, assume that you have reached the top, unless you actually have. 6) Climb the ladder! Notes: I find the wood from the “Tree of Knowledge” or “Bodi Tree” an excellent choice of wood for constructing a sturdy ladder. Allegory is a form of extended metaphor, in which objects, persons, and actions in a narrative, are equated with the meanings that lie outside the narrative itself. The underlying meaning has moral, social, religious, or political significance, and characters are often personifications of abstract ideas as charity, greed, or envy. Thus an allegory is a story with two meanings, symbolic meaning.
