I don't know about you, but I love creating something new. Whether it's re-doing a piece of old furniture to look like new, planting flowers to dress up the yard or giving my walls a new treatment to add some pizazz to a tired decor, it's all so rewarding and makes you feel like you've accomplished something HUGE! That's also how I feel when I create new designs. I have my own desires in mind much of the time as I sit down to draw out something really neat. I imagine the design somewhere in my own home and just how I'd lay it out, how I might repeat it in to a beautiful all over design or how I might trail it over a window or doorway. Now if I just had more blank walls I'd use each and every one of them! I've created some new designs you are going to love! Especially my new Raised Plaster Diamond Panel Stencil. I have a girlfriend who just moved in to an 1890's Victorian home in Snohomish, Washington. The kitchen cabinets must have been updated in the 70's to a very plain version of what they might have originally been. So we are going to use this panel stencil to add ornate front panels to each cupboard door. In the center of that raised panel, we will attach an ornamental plaster piece from one of our plaster molds for walls (look for them in "sellers other auctions). We will then give the entire cupboard door a beautiful wash of pale brown glaze to bring out the detail. And wha la! She will have exquisite new cabinets she can be proud of! Try this idea on your own outdated cabinets and watch your kitchen once again become the room everyone wants to hang out in! -
