An attractive and very collectable antique Mellins Baby's record, together with a peice of baby's first hair, two Christmas cards and letter from the baby's Auntie. Which has been carefully and very neatly filled in with details of the baby's progress. Twenty pages have been filled in - which include a list of her first birthday presents, her weights, her progress (which include her first ride in a horse carriage which over turned and first ride in a Motor car, and her first word). The entries are very charming and very informative, the baby - Constance Faith Wakefield born at Lincoln Lodge, Horse Hills Horley Surrey, sounds like a well care for and well loved baby and the entries are very touching, we learn her father was also her doctor - so he may have filled the record in. Size 4 & 1/2 x 6 & 3/4 inches. The book has 31 pages of adverts for Mellins foods with photos of baby's and printed letters from parents. The cover is stained and edges bumped with top and bottom 1/2 inch of the spine missing, hinges are cracked, some pen marks on back end paper, foxing and binding cracking in places but all pages attached. If this were a relative of mine I would be well pleased to own such a beautiful record. Alternatively this would make a lovely touching historic museum exhibit.
