I have been an artist my whole life, from the first time I held a crayon in my hand, it's been my passion. My love of Barbies began way back in 1959, at the age of 6, when I received my first blonde haired ponytail Barbie, whom I named "Ruth". This began a massive collection of every type of Barbie Mattel made that I played with constantly until 14, when I displayed my favorites.
When I discovered that Barbie's could be re-painted & permed, it was OVER WITH! I passionately combined my two loves, and have been having a BLAST creating Gorgeous dolls, ensembles & accessories.
I have a degree in Advertising Design & Illustration from Prarie State University in Illinios. As a published, free-lance illustrator, winner of three juried art contests, & landscape oil painter, I consider an Ooak Barbie to be a special art form, lovingly created and carefully crafted from an imaginative idea to a finished gorgeous product.
I have been married 34 years. I have 4 grown children, 4 grandchildren and another due Nov '08! I Substitute teach at the elementary school my 2 youngest boys attended & babysit grand babies 2 days a week. Almost all my free time is spent on my Barbie Projects!
