  • First Tonka pick Up

    Tonka produced the first pick up in 1955 and it was red and had a one pice grille and bumper attatchment with slotted hubcaps. In 1956 red was only available with a construction set, being unchanged. the color of the year was blue and continued with this body style through 1957. You will note the 1957 Tonka trucks had hood scoops.
  • Tonka semi Logger

    Tonka started it's life in 1946 as Mound Metal craft and launched the Tonka name in 1947, named after Lake Minnetonka. The first logo, used until 1955 represented the waves of Lake Minnetonka along with three birds on top of the Tonka Toys Name. The Semi logger with the wood flat bed was only made in 1953 although they contunued other tandem type loggers. My 1953 logger began it's life with a Tonka employee in MN and retired to The Sunshine State.

    Minic has been making toys in England since th 1870's. The company originally owned by George Lines, later by his brother Joseph. Three of Joseph's sons started the  Lines Bros LTD with a Triangle logo, Hence the Triang line emerged in 1935. Pre-war were metal and post war, mixed parts were used and in 1947 plastic vehicles started being produced  along with split bodies. Not all the toys are easily researched today nor are a lot of price lists available. They are much sought after in all versions.

    Collectible and Antique toys and trains keep memories alive. In 1901 Joshua Lionel Cohen developed the Lionel train  placing a motor under a gondola car, primarily for shop display windows to promote other products. Thus, the birth of Lionel.

  • Structo Vintage Trucks

    Structo has made many varieties of trucks over the years. The hydraulic hook and ladder truck is a food example of the type and variety offered. In the fifties, the snub nose truck was a staple line for their toys. Much sought after in todays collectible market.
