  • Social Security Benefits Pamphlet from 1937 during the Great Depression.

    8:08 AM PST, 10/17/2008

In light of the current economic situation,  I  thought it poignant to list this pamphlet issued by the Social Security Board highlighting "old-age" benefits.

The Social Security Board began disbursement of said benefits during the very end of the Great Depression. This would make a great gift for a recent retiree or an excellent addition to a historians collection.

With the upcoming elections and the "America First" slogans being thrown about. I figured I would list some items I acquired over the summer.

In a lot I purchased I had found some Interesting clippings fom Charles Lindbergh's Speaking tour promoting his ant-intervention politics prior to WWII. The clippings are from the Minneapolis Star and the Newspaper Social Justice.

I am also listing a pamphlet of his Radio Addresses and a pamphlet put out by the American Jewish Committee addressing concerns of anti-semitism in the isolationist camps. (KKK, Silvershirts etc.)

Take a look, I'm sure that these historically significant Items will make a welcome addition to your collection.
