I have heard other women mention the adjustment that needs to be made when your husband takes early retirement. Well, let me tell you....It is not only a financial adjustment but an emotional one as well for both the husband and the wife/ME!
So to fill up his time, he has taken to organize EVERYTHING!
He is working on the garage, with an occassional visit to the closets and kitchen drawers and cabinets. Retiring from a Retail Grocery career, my shelves look like the aisles of a grocery store...all items faced and dare to be moved. But the garage is where he has found many treasures, tucked away and not used for many years. Most of these were his fathers. I loved my father-in-law. He was a fair and interesting in-law and was a dad to me since mine died when I was 22. Dad was the Chief Maintenance Training Supervisor for TWA Airlines for 35 years. He was such a good mechanic he taught the mechanics that taught others. His tools were numerous and not wanting to part with them, they were tucked away for our son and son-in-law. However, we have disbursed many of them and now are offering them on eBay in hopes that other lovers of tools, ratchets, sockets, calipers, wrenches, brake hones, hand drills, levels etc. will be able to put them to good use. Pictures, detailed descriptions have been written and listed...in hopes that my 'bored' husband will leave my spatulas, wooden spoons and measuring cups alone! Thanks for 'listening'
Until next time...
