Domestic Shipping Insurance Rates

Shipments from the US and Canada to international destinations not on the restricted country list are charged Domestic Rates. However, in the instance of claims for lost shipments, such claims are subject to international rules, which require that claimants must wait for 45 days before filing claims on lost shipments, except Italy where claimants must wait 60 days.

For Domestic Shipments sent via the USPS and are NOT traceable (traceable methods include Delivery Confirmation, Signature Confirmation, Certified Mail, Express Mail and Registered Mail), coverage will be limited to $1,000.

International Shipping Insurance Rates

International shipping is shipping from the U.S./Canada to any country that is not on the restricted countries list.

For USPS First Class International shipments, coverage is limited to $1,000.

Auctiva Rates are the amount you (the seller) will be charged for the shipping insurance policy. We automatically credit the purchase of the shipping insurance policy to your account. You should then add funds to your account to cover past/future insurance purchases to continue using Auctiva Shipping Insurance.

  • How do I file a claim?
    1. Locate the item/s on your Sales Transactions page.
    2. Click the View Insurance link to the right of the item.
    3. Follow all the instructions provided on filing a claim.

  • How long after my item sells do I have to purchase shipping insurance?

    You must purchase insurance on an item no more than 72 hours after the item has been shipped. Please note that the Auctiva Auto-Insure Rules feature will NOT generate a policy where the item is paid for more than 7 days after the purchase date. If you wish to insure such items, you must purchase the insurance policy manually.

  • How do I enable Auctiva Shipping Insurance?

    Auctiva Shipping Insurance is disabled when you open your account. You can enable Auctiva Shipping Insurance via the following process:

    1. Hover your mouse over the My Account tab and click on the "Auctiva Shipping Ins." link.
    2. Check the box next to "Enable Auctiva Shipping Insurance".
    3. Save your settings.
  • What if I am using PayPal shipping labels?

    You can continue to print your shipping labels with PayPal - just make sure that you aren't purchasing shipping insurance through PayPal.

    PayPal sometimes automatically marks the "Purchase USPS insurance" option, so remember to uncheck that option before completing the label printing.
