Tim Blair is one lucky eBay seller, and the happy owner of a brand new, fully loaded iPad 2, having won the Auctiva iPad 2 Giveaway.

The antiques dealer from Wells, ME, who goes by dudadz on eBay, was randomly chosen from all entries in the giveaway, which encouraged sellers to try Auctiva's new Integrated Shipping Labels feature for their eBay shipments.

Blair says winning the iPad 2 was "cool" and totally unexpected.

"I was telling my wife, I've never won anything in my life. I was shocked," he explains. However, he's not sure how much he'll get to use his shiny new toy.

"My wife's already claimed it," he laughs. "She's wanted one for a long time."

We hoped this giveaway would be a fun way to introduce Auctiva's sellers to our shipping labels capability

The Top-rated Seller, who ships more than 100 packages a week, was automatically entered in the drawing when he printed his labels through Auctiva. He had plenty of competition, though. Auctiva reports that, among users of its eBay listing and sales management tools, there was a "substantial" increase in users trying the feature for the first time during the October promotion.

"We hoped this giveaway would be a fun way to introduce Auctiva's sellers to our shipping labels capability, and it was great to see the excitement it created," says Rebecca Miller, Auctiva product analyst. "The number of people trying our labels for the first time exceeded our expectations."

And, even though the giveaway ended more than a week ago, interest in the shipping label feature hasn't waned. Users who tried it out continue to print their labels through Auctiva, notes Tony Maxey, senior product manager of Auctiva.com.

"The contest is over, but the volume of labels printed is staying up, and even increasing," Maxey says.

Moreover, Auctiva received a lot of helpful feedback from users of the label feature, which the company will use to further develop it as well as fine-tune existing functionality.

"We're looking forward to introducing some new capabilities that will be particularly useful for large sellers, such as bulk label printing," Maxey adds.
