GotFreeShipping.com is a shopping resource that allows users to find eBay listings that include free shipping. While that may be handy when you're doing your shopping at home, it was less useful when you found an item on your local stores' shelves and wanted to do a little comparison shopping.

The site is addressing this by introducing support for Android, Apple and Blackberry smartphones. Creator John Wright added this mobile support so customers can compare prices on eBay while out shopping.

"GotFreeShipping.com will allow you to make a very quick comparison as the shipping costs will be totally eliminated," Wright says.

Free shipping is becoming a popular trend as more consumers seek out deals online. GotFreeShipping.com is tapping into that trend, and increasing its usability by strengthening a mobile consumer's ability to shop around. More apps like this are allowing consumers to search, scan and shop on the go, which is one reason eBay has raised its 2011 projections for mobile payments through PayPal to $3.5 billion.

According to Shop.org, nine out of 10 online retailers plan on offering free shipping during the holiday season.

"I think free shipping is what encourages a customer to shop online, rather than in a store," says Simon Jobman, Web manager of FreeShipping.org. "If you can get the same item for the same price—or usually lower—online, and you don't have to pay shipping, then why drive to the store?"

GotFreeShipping.com launched in 2009 and is a member of the eBay Developers Program. It uses an image-based interface to list eBay items that have free shipping. In the future, Wright plans to integrate listings from Amazon and Best Buy.
