eBay's PayPal subsidiary will be expanding its customer service operations with a new center in Arizona, come this fall.

According to news reports, the company will occupy a 188,000-square-foot building in Chandler, AZ. PayPal didn't say how many employees it will hire to staff the center, but it did say it will add personnel as the company expands.

PayPal also says it signed a 10-year lease for the four-story building, where its new customer service representatives will be located.

"This is a significant expansion for eBay," says Boyd Dunn, Chandler's mayor. "They intend to not only bring in initial jobs, but will be expanding, perhaps several times, in the future."

eBay already has a presence in Chandler, AZ., with about 300 eBay and PayPal employees, comprising telephone and e-mail support agents, and software developers, among other roles.
