Sellers on eBay Motors might be happy to learn that buyers now have another way of finding their items, as eBay introduced a new eBay Motors iPhone app.

The free app lets shoppers browse cars and car parts using their mobile devices. The app also provides free vehicle history reports from Experian AutoCheck and allows shoppers to easily contact sellers for additional information about the car or part they're interested in. Additionally, the app's "My Garage" feature allows buyers to save information about their vehicles so they can easily see what parts and accessories would fit their cars.

"The eBay Motors iPhone apps allows users to scan a VIN, add a car to My Garage to surface parts and accessories that fit their cars, making car shopping easy and personalized," says Steve Yankovich, eBay's vice president of Mobile. "Motors purchases are already very popular on the main eBay Mobile app, with 90,000 parts and accessories and 2,000 cars purchased per week, globally."

The Motors app is available in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish, and can be downloaded for free at the Apple iTunes store.

During the first quarter of 2011, the number of vehicles purchased via mobile devices increased by more than 160 percent, compared to the same time last year, according to eBay. Globally, the number of parts and accessories sold grew 250 percent during the same time, the company notes.
